Whoever made the photo decisions for the Mad Men 2010 calendar grossly overestimated how much I care about January Jones. Why on Earth would they give her three months all to herself, while Jon Hamm only even has one? I refuse to look at Betty Draper wallowing in her own self pity for three whole months.

A Few Words on Andrew W.K.

As a fan every few months I check progress on the Andrew W.K. conspiracy theories to see if anything new has come forward. Yesterday in my post part ‘til I puked state I stumbled upon this video where Andrew W.K. straight up admits to not being the original A.W.K. and the brainstorm of some suits. I feel like I should be disappointed, but the amount of amazing stories I’ve heard about this dude out weighs any bummer time I feel. Here are a list of my favs

1. In 2002 I bought my brother, Robbie tickets to see him at Irving Plaza for his 12th Birthday. Here is a picture from that night where he put my chubby at the time brother on his shoulders and danced around stage making all his dreams come true.

2. While in college a kid I used to bro-down with spent the last of his money attending an Andrew W.K. show. He asked Andrew for an autograph, but the only piece of paper he had was a past due bill notifying him that is phone would be shut off if it wasn’t paid. Once Andrew saw this he went into his bus and wrote the kid a check to pay his phone bill.

3. If you ever signed up for his mailing list he will call you to wish you a happy birthday or just say what’s up

4. I’ve also heard a number of stories where he would go back to kid’s dorms and party with them.

5.His twitter party tips are great

If these are the type of things corporations want to trick me into thinking are real then I bring on the trickery. The only negative thing I have to say about the dude is I have never had a great time at Santos Party House.

The first thing I thought after seeing that video was “I wonder what Amanda Ferri is going to say about this.”

I can’t lie though, I think it’s hilariously awesome that he can admit to pretending to be an entirely different person, but at the same time he’s so cool that no one is even mad. AWK will always have a special place in my heart (and in my party playlists).

Jason Segel feat. Swell Season, No Special Effects

Last night, Jason Segel got on stage during Swell Season’s LA show and performed a song he wrote himself. (If you’ll recall, Segel wrote actually wrote all the music for the Dracula puppet musical in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.) It’s nothing short of hilarious and the best thing you will see today. (via)

what is it, the electronic signboards from Dundas and Richmond at more than just those 2 stops?

no, if you go on the website there is now an option to see the realtime stops

useful and useless, IMO. It figures they’d do something new-ish that doesn’t bring the service to a new level. IMHO, they need to re-do that sucker from the ground up. And service after midnight on major routes would be nice too. Cause its not like thousands of students are gonna be in bed by midnight. Those signboards at D&R rock. Why not have them at all the major transfer points?

Sorry, but I hold a special place in my heart for London Transit. I think I’m just super-bitter tho, so please ignore. I can be such a whiner ;)

[EDIT - ok, i checked it out and that is actually is pretty cool/useful. If you have a computer and are online in the 1/2 hour before you have to use the bus ]

other useful things:

- how about making buses match up with each other so that getting from white oaks mall to masonville takes less than 1.5 hours (might be exaggarating, but really, it takes FOREVER).

- ditto with buses after midnight. I hate how early it stops.

- can people stop pissing in the shelters? Gross.

- work on getting buses into the newer areas so that housing can be more accessible for all.

Basically, I am thankful for having transit at all, but I agree that it needs to be redone from the ground up because London has expanded so much recently. Makes me almost want to go to one of those town hall meetings.

They have those electric thingys at other locales too. There’s one at the natural sciences stop @ western and at White Oaks Mall

I feel ya. Make it a contest for some comp sci/urban planing students to write a new scheduling program and routes or something. offer a reasonable prize.

The buses don’t have to run the current routes. Just slap a new name and number on those puppies and you are ready to rock. Brand new transit system for the cost of sign replacement. Get creative!!!!

fully. The thing I like about London is how innovative they are with most things- but transit really holds them back.

Um, also, I realize this is unrealistic, but could we make it less expensive? Like. It costs me the same amount to take the bus in London as it did in Montreal and in Montreal I had the subway as well as about 200 extra bus routes. Same for ATL. Same for TO. KILLS ME. I mean I get that less people use transit in London, so they have to charge more, BUT STILL

I fully appreciate/agree with everything going on in this series of reblogs. The fact that I can never stay out later than 11:30 without having to pay a ridiculous amount for a cab ride home is the bane of my existence.

My major public transportation pet peeve: people who take up two seats because they refuse to let anyone sit beside them. ALSO, people who leave their gum on bus seats.
