"The thing about patriarchy is that individual men, gay and straight, are often really wonderful people who you love deeply, but they have internalized some really poisonous shit. So every once in a while they say or do something that really shakes you because you’re no longer totally certain they see you as a human being, and you feel totally disempowered to explain that to them."

Presenting… The Making of Be On My Side

teenagekicksteenagekicks:

Hello fellow Kickers,

A few months ago a very good friend of ours began putting together a short film about the recording of our new EP and although the six minutes of footage we had of Jeff using a pitch shifter and saying, ‘Hello Sailor’ was left out, I still think he did a pretty darned good job and we’re very excited for you all to finally see it.

The documentary was directed by the award winning (best-friend 2007, 2009 and 2010) filmmaker Sean Egerton Foreman and features still photography by the very awesome Chris Payne.

If you have either film or photography needs in the future we highly recommend both of these talented gentlemen.

Enjoy!

Goes out to club without boyfriend wearing short shorts.
Gets drunk and flirts with guys even though she has a boyfriend.
Fucks said guy who she was flirting with whilst drunk.
“I WAS RAPED AND MY BOYFRIEND SHOULD FORGIVE ME”
Woman logic.

Shouldn’t have searched the “woman logic” tag. In that respect, I suppose I was asking for this.

Hey, I really don’t need to put this out there, but the first commenter on this picture is a terrible fucking person, yeah?

I know he’s just trolling for the sake of trolling, but I seriously worry about people who hang out with anyone that doesn’t recognize the difference between “fucking” someone and being raped by them.

You Will Always Bring Me Flowers - Shannon and the Clams

I know it’s been a tough winter,
I know ‘cause I’ve been freezin’ too.

Absolutely necessary Valentines Day post.

I’m not going to tell you what I’ve done, but it’s not bad.

I spent my entire second semester as a co-op EA in an elementary school (mostly in a 6th grade classroom), and this video is exactly what my life was like for six months. It was like walking into a live version of youmakemetouchyourhandsforstupidreasons every day. So, in other words, it was the best thing ever and I miss those kids. Also, reblogging so that Mindy can laugh at the Zombieland reference.
