“I have a long list of stories that I would love to tell you about Kevin Devine. But to be honest, I’d probably have to end most of them with the inevitable, ‘I guess you had to be there,’ and maybe even if you were there they wouldn’t mean much to you. Listen to Miracle of ‘86, listen to any of his records, you are going to find something to adore. But to believe it, how can you know? And does it, or should it matter? How much should a person’s character effect how we view what it is that person makes? I don’t know. I just know that Kevin is someone I love with my whole heart. The more I see him as a struggler, because he wants to be someone better than who he is, and treat the people around him better than he does, then the more I believe him when he puts on a guitar and sings a song. I believe that there is a lot of darkness in the world, but I don’t accept that there is only darkness, or that it will eventually win and I don’t think that Kevin does either.” - Jesse Lacey

I don’t know why, but I find dude friendships at least 95% more endearing than girl friendships (especially when it’s between Jesse and Kevin). We are such secret dicks to each other a lot of the time, but boys seem to have this shit down.
